The powerful Epson B 500 is a business ready color inkjet printer that creates high quality printouts at fast speeds and in large quantities. The printer is ideal for printing student work, administrative reports, flyers, mailers, presentations, instructional materials, and just about any project that can be livened with a little color. And to really bring out the color, the Epson B 500 ink cartridges contain DURABrite Ultra pigment inks.
This machine will be able to produce around 37 pages per minute using draft mode settings, while reaching speeds up to 5 pages per minute on the highest quality settings. Printing with black and white or choosing to print with color will take this machine the same amount of time to produce. Users can easily adjust settings and the formatting with the built-in 5-Line LCD display. The LCD display also features 3 LEDs and 6 buttons that enable users to easily navigate and select the right printing options for the job.
Projects printed with this device can have resolutions up to 5760 x 1440 dpi, thanks to the Advanced MicroPiezo inkjet technology found in the print cartridges. The MicroPiezo technology fits a small piece of Piezo material into each ink droplet chamber within the Epson B 500 ink cartridges. The Piezo element will abruptly change shape when provoked by an electrical impulse, pushing out the ink droplet. The electrical impulse found in these drop-on-demand cartridges is much easier to control then reflective continuous inkjets.
The Epson B 500 printer can hold up to 650 sheets of paper having two separate input trays. The larger front paper cassette has a capacity that can handle up to 500 sheets, while the rear automatic sheet feeder can hold up to 150 sheets of letter-size paper. The printer will be able to print onto different sized media ranging from A6, 4 x 6 inch cards to Legal-sized 8.5 x 14 inch paper documents.
This printer comes with four separate Epson B 500 ink cartridges including the T616100 black, the T616200 cyan, the T616300 magenta, and the T616400 yellow ink cartridges. The cartridges are lined in tandem formation in order to keep speeds high. And having individual inks allows users to control ink replacement procedures and possibly lower the operational costs. To save money, users only have to replace the Epson ink cartridge that runs low or out, instead of changing all the colors at once.
